Dr. Angelika Epple has been Professor of 19th and 20th Century History at the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology since 2008.
Her research focuses on the theory of history, the history of globalisation since the early modern period and global microhistory.
After eight years as Vice Rector, she will take over as Rector of Bielefeld University on 1 October as the successor to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Sagerer.
